We Are the Universe/God/Goddess Experiencing Itself
Our HeArt Sanctuary Artist, Founder & Philanthropist
In Feb of 2021 a nearly fatal bicycle crash completely changed my life in ways unimaginable. The accident caused multiple neck fractures, massive nerve damage, a busted shoulder, and deep feelings of loss. With help from my children, an extraordinary team of therapists, and some very special yogis, life began to take on a new and wonderful meaning.
The words divine unfolding best describe how the nonprofit charity (Our HeArt Sanctuary) began. The idea of owning land for my family has been on my mind for a very long time. I envisioned a place filled with so much peace you could feel it the moment your feet touched the ground. This was the initial spark & impulse for creating the Sanctuary. And like all divine ideas, once that seed was planted in good fertile soil, it took on a life & collaborative spirit of it's own. With my children & grandchildren, we have now co-founded a vision for creating & hosting a self-guided artist & healing retreat space on our property near Columbus, North Carolina.
Art has been a big part of my healing journey, which has unfolded slowly & patiently over time. It is my wish for all to experience the profound joy & healing that comes through expressing our own creativity. And maybe even feel inspired to experiment with the artist who lives inside you.
I hope you will join us in helping make this world a more peaceful, beautiful, meaningful & inspiring place for all to live & be.

I imagine a world where everyone feels safe, supported, valued & free to explore & express their unique creative gifts. I have lived most of my life according to other people’s dreams & versions of reality, and have felt the soul crushing weight of not being able, or not feeling safe enough to share or express my creativity with others.
My purpose & soul mission now is to create an environment within myself, where others may feel safe, free & encouraged to be themselves, exactly as they are. I believe it is only when we are accepted & valued for being ourselves (including & especially our self acceptance), that we can begin to grow & reach our full potential as creative beings.
The vision of Our HeArt Sanctuary is to create a physical, mental, emotional & spiritual environment for ourselves & others to be our most magical, authentic & creative selves.
We recognize and honor our diversity & uniqueness, as well as our interconnection & Oneness with All.
One of my main roles & responsibilities at the Sanctuary is to anchor these sacred vibrations/intentions & maintain an environment of peace, safety, respect, creative freedom, acceptance, support, compassion & kindness for everyone who visits us.
We look forward to meeting & co-creating with You!

As long as I can remember I have struggled to fit in… struggled to find my place in this world that moves too quickly. A world too competitive, exhausting, and impossible for gentle souls to survive in.
From the time I could talk, all I wanted was to help people, in any way that I could. From the life I’ve lived so far, I’ve learned the best way to help people is to simply allow them the space to be whoever they want to be. To be who you are, free of judgment, is the greatest blessing of all.
I am a giver, an artist, creator, dreamer, nonconformist, and I’m sure there are many other things that could be used to define me… but most of all I am a lover. A lover of this planet, this universe, this life that we are so lucky to be living. A lover of all the people in this world I have met and have yet to meet, especially the people who do not feel seen… I see you and I love you.
It means the world to me to create a space where others are able to simply exist without the pressures of this society. A place of love, and safety, where your light cannot be diminished, but gives you the space to burn so much brighter. A place to slow down, take in the present moment, and enjoy what it means to be alive.
It is an honor and a privilege to create a space where anything is possible, and everyone is welcome. You are so loved, your life means so much, and I cannot wait to meet you.
